In our last blog we discussed boarding schools in Virginia. Just on the other side of Potomac River,you also some of the best schools in the state of Maryland. A lot of these schools like some in Virginia are within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
Georgetown Preparatory School was founded in 1789 and is the nations oldest Catholic boys boarding school.
What is also fascinating about so many of these schools is the wide diversity of students that attend all of these boarding and prep schools. For instance St. Timothy's school is one of the few girls boarding schools in the US to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
Other well known boarding and prep schools in Maryland include the following: Garrison Forest School, McDonogh School, Oldfields School, Saint James School, Sandy Spring Friends School and West Nottingham Academy. There are also several military boarding schools in Maryland.
Every boarding and prep school around the world will have a unique feature that caters for every unique feature that your child will have. Their education is the most valuable influence they will possess as they are moulded into informed young adults.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure exactly what you mean by "do the same thing" But what I can say is that there are some amazing all girl boarding schools in Maryland, such as Oldfields and St. Timothy's. I noticed you put a link to one boarding school in particular. We would like to hear more about your link.
